Hepatitis C

Though nearly 30,000 Americans are infected with hepatitis C each year, many of them are unaware and many of them do not have any symptoms.

Hepatitis C spreads through the blood and thus has some of the same risk factors as hepatitis B. Where hepatitis C differs from other forms of hepatitis is in its symptoms and complications, such as jaundice and joint pain.

Presently, there is no vaccine against hepatitis C. It is crucial that you avoid exposure and take precautions by practicing safer sex and avoiding street drugs.
